According to him, the foreign trade turnover of the Far Eastern regions with China is more than 10 billion US dollars. At the same time, two ways of cooperation with the Chinese partners are perspective.

The first direction is the development of Russian-Chinese investment cooperation in the Far East. As Maxim Shereikin noted: "More than 30 projects are implemented today under a joint program between the regions of the Far East and Northeast China, but only 10 of them are in the active stage." The priority social and economic development territories may give a new impetus to investment cooperation.

The second trend is the development of cross-border infrastructure. According to Maxim Shereikin, this trend will contribute to the intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries. He said that currently "construction of bridge Nizhneleninskoye (Jewish Autonomous Region) – Tongjiang (PRC) is being put in motion. Moreover, today we are discussing the construction of similar bridges in Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region and Poltavka in Primorsky Krai", said FED deputy minister.

The deputy head also talked about Great Ussuriysk island development prospect. The island develops in the framework of bilateral agreements on the principle of "one island – the two countries." Last year, about 400,000 Chinese tourists visited the Chinese part of the island.

 Summing up his speech, Maxim Shereikin stated that all these initiatives will be discussed in more detail on the Eastern economic forum in Vladivostok from September 3 to 5. "Our main task is to make the guests of the forum, including our Chinese partners, to take with them not only the good impression of the Russian Federation and the Far East, but also specific projects for consideration", the deputy summed up.
