Yakutians raised nearly three million rubles for a runner Sardaane Trofimova


Countrymen raised nearly three million rubles to Sardaana Trofimova, who won an Olympic ticket to Rio de Janeiro. Ceremonial presentation of funds took place in celebration of athletes in Verkhnevilyuisk ulus.

 

Sardaana Trofimova, who won the ticket to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in October 25, was handed 2,7 million rubles and her personal trainer Tatyana Zhirkova – 200 thousand rubles in November 10. All the money was collected by citizens, social activists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, administration and Verkhnevilyuisk district village.

"Sardaana expressed gratitude to her countrymen and coaches with excitement. She said she constantly felt our support and promised not to fail at the Olympics," deputy head of Verkhnevilyuisk ulus Spyridon Borbuev said in a commentary to YSIA.

Initially, it was a million rubles that was to be collected for the athlete training. However, the number of those wishing to see Sardaana Trofimova in a good shape at the Olympics was more.

Sardaana Trofimova starts training again and go to the camp in Kyrgyzstan in late November.
