The Evens, Evenki, Yukagir, Dolgan, Russian-Uste-men, Chukchi participated in an ethnic ceremony of purification. Each nation has different rites. Purification started with a smudge. Day, celebrated in the world for more than 20 years, and for 10 years in the republic, now was held under the auspices of promoting health and well-being of indigenous peoples.

We need to convey to our children all the power and wealth for they live on their own land and look into the future confidently," vice president of the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North Vyacheslav Shadrin touched upon the problems and their solutions in his speech.

The Evenki apron, sewn in the 18th century, aroused great interest at the parade of traditional costumes. Also, tundra Evens presented the costumes of Hukil genus. Any suit, presented the people of the North today – is a wealth material, by which one may study its history, traditions, art.

Holiday is spreading. With the support of the Department of the peoples of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), events are held in the districts too. It is recognizable, people see, learn that there are such people, get acquainted to their culture, which is very gratifying.
