The TIC of Yakutia met with the Japan delegation


Yakutian Trading-Industrial Chamber held a meeting with Kyuma Fumio, former first Minister for Defense in Japan's postwar history, a former Japanese Parliament member of the liberal democratic party and Konno Yasuhiro, a member of the Board of Directors "Sakha diamond Corporation". The latter said Japan was interested in rapid response to the demands of consumers. The meeting o fSeptember 8 was attended by the President of the Union "Chamber of Commerce" Vladimir Chlenov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSCB Almazergienbank Nikolay Maramygin.



During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on established partnerships and possible promising areas of Russian-Japanese cooperation in the sphere of small and medium businesses.

Vladimir Chlenov noted that Japanese were always different inachieving the goals. So Russians respect it very much. Also he recalled that Russia and Japan have found a common language, even 40 years ago during the construction of the Baikal-Amur mainline. Thanks to Hokkaido Neryungri coal mine has delivered over 40 million tons of coal, more than 20 years. Moreover, annually 350 thousand cubic meters of high quality larch forest are supplied in Japan Northern sea  from Tiksi.

During the meeting sides also discussed the issues of the Arctic and the Northern sea route development. It was Japan initiated creating a scientific-practical conference on development of the Northern sea route eight years in Northern Forum. Also the Northern Forum role was emphasized chaired by the head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Ygor Borisov, in the development of the transcontinental Euro-Asian marine transport corridor.

Volodymir Chlenov gave thanks to the Japanese manufacturers outboard motors, snowmobiles – Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki on behalf of the residents of the Arctic regions. And he stressed that the Yakutian entrepreneurs is very important to have dealer contacts for creating care service centers, and there is interest in organizing a joint production of snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.

Low temperature testing equipment platform was created in NEFU base which can be interesting for manufacturers such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan.

Also he highlighted some interesting examples for Japanese business. Thus, there are a lot of biologically active resources that need to turn into a commodity but  it needs investors. It is Daurian larch, extract of which is dihydroquercetin. It is very popular immune system strengthening mean in USA and Europe.

Potential partners may be interested in Yakut national cuisine, delivery Yakut fish company's North delicatessen fish, Yakut meat, mammoth fauna, adventure tourism.

Mr. Kyuma Fumio noted the evidence of progress in the history of Russian-Japanese relations. This is connected with East economic forum in Vladivostok. Russian housing and communal service, transport service resently visited Japan. According to Mr. Kyuma Fumio, further development of the Far East depends on Yakutia. He shared his personal impressions of  Yakutia: I was surprised by calm atmosphere, I feel a sense of security, there are very good roads – there are no traffic jams in, unlike in other countries. It impressed me.

It was called the start of cooperation work - branch of JSCB Almazergienbank JSC in Vladivostok for establishing and strengthening the partnership of the Russian-Japanese business structures. Now, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to conduct financial transactions via an open Vladivostok visa-free sea port with customs privileges.
