"We see great major changes in Yakutia as electronic future is inevitably coming," he said to the media before opening of the Yakut stage of the international festival "Digital Future - 2015".
Alexander Aygistov believes that despite the vast territory, the republic may become an example for the country's regions in providing state and municipal services to citizens through electronic technology.
"I know the republic has ambitious plans to cover inaccessible areas by the Internet, and every time we come here, we see all these changes, the new plans, reduction of tariffs, the active work of the government and administration of the republic head to establish the feedback with the population," the head of RARIO stressed.
Alexander praised the overall efforts of the authorities and public non-commercial and educational institutions in training the population to computer literacy, the ability to use electronic services of public and municipal services. "I have always said, and I say that Yakutia has a special way. This volunteer project is worthy role model and an example for other regions. Good numbers, good performance and of course the excellent results", he added.
According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic, 75,5% of Yakutia is currently able to use the Internet.
